Good old Red Bull. Giving people a shot of anxiety and then filming the crazy, dumb, and awesome things people have done all over the world! And good thing they do too! Taking video is one of social media’s best ways to show off your company!
This particular Red Bull video may be older, but it just shows how crazy these Red Bullers are!
For those of you who don’t know what’s going on here, this guy Felix is free falling from Earth’s Stratosphere. That’s 24 miles (39km) above sea level. In case you still aren’t grasping how insane this is, Mount Everest’s peak is about 5.5 miles (8.848km) above sea level.
The best part is, Red Bull did this live.
If you want to see the whole video, click here. Long intro. He falls at 3:30.
You can see crazy events like this and more on Red Bull’s TV Facebook Page. Both live and past events are there! Well, as long as there is an event going on of course!
Owen Hemsath with Tubular Insights wrote an article titled, “Top 7 Social Video Tips & Takeaways from Social Media Marketing World.” While all points are excellent, I will only highlight the top 3:
- Point 2- Marketers Must Take Notice of Facebook Video: I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Facebook has released a relatively new feature where you can live stream video. Now, that’s not all the point talks about, but it is a great way to show your product being used in real time. In the case of Red Bull, this can be used as advertisement for their events. This will add ease to customer’s research of your product.
- Point 4- You Must Get to Know Video Analytics: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: measure your outcomes! If some videos are working well, play into them! If other videos are not performing, drop them. It will help your marketing campaign.
- Point 5- Snapchat is a Major Player: This is a bizarre point to me, but it makes sense. I’ve seen Red Bull have “Snapchat filters” and user content live feeds at events. This has been used by other companies in the past. Your company can benefit from Snapchat as long as your demographic fits with the demographic that uses Snapchat.
